They Did Something Stupid, Can I Give Up ?

Marriage is such a beautiful thing when two mature people commit to dying to themselves and doing what is best for their spouse. When they work together to pursue God’s plan for their lives and aren’t distracted by the world but work together as a team. Its a beautiful thing when another man or woman can not threaten their relationship and they both choose wisely not to entertain other people.

Marriage is honorable but becoming one flesh is NO walk in the park.

So, before you get down the aisle… one of you is going to do something stupid. Trust me, the devil didn’t make them do it; they chose to do it!

One of you could be thinking:

Am I not good enough? Do they really love me? Is this really God’s plan for me to be hurt? Can I leave the relationship? I don’t have to put up with this! How is that you know the scriptures but don’t have the discipline enough to apply it. Huh? Do you have a relationship with God or did you just turn the conviction off when you made that decision?

The other person could be thinking:

I made a mistake and yes I have a bad habit, but do I have to keep hearing about it over and over again? Yes, I am flawed and I’ll do my best to work on it but you keep looking for problems. What am I suppose to do? I am not perfect but I love God and I love you… I just don’t know how to break this bad habit.

Getting over the tough times is what makes relationships worth it, social media doesn’t show you that. This is how a true bond is created! You know its love when you can count on a person to love you flaws and all. I’m not saying you have to tolerate disrespect or being mistreated but REAL LOVE is going to be there to pray for you and help you become a better person. People are so quick to give up in a relationship, hard times are going to come and you've got to endure. People do dumb things and make bad decisions everyday and God forgives us so who are you not to forgive?
We've got to help each other grow!

The Support Season

In this season, we are pursing our dreams and though it makes little time for each other it’s a great time to learn about support. As we enter the support season, I am excited  that we are going to make our dreams come true. When you are focused on your dreams, you’ve got to cut the fat. Yes, cut out all the extras!!! You can’t spend hours watching television, texting or going out. You’ve got work to do, goals to reach and dreams to turn into a reality.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

“Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

The Support Season is not the time to nag about why you guys can’t spend time, talk, or FaceTime. This season is about focusing on your dreams and knowing there is someone next to you who is also running in the direction of their dreams as well. As I begin a new career, I realize how important it is to have a supportive mate. I am a dreamer and very adventurous…basically… I can be all over the place. My best friend is very stable minded and conservative and though I can find it boring sometimes…he compliments me very well! Unknowingly, he has helped me to buckle down and focus on the things that I truly want and go after them. He helps me to think about the future and not always live in the bohemian moment. He has helped me to see my potential and has inspired me to be a better woman.

Hebrews 10:24

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works,”

School is starting soon and if you don’t have someone who is pushing you to succeed, get rid of them. You don’t need dead weight! If you don’t have someone who is praying for you daily in this season, get rid of them. Support each others aspirations and make a difference in the world. You were created for a purpose, fulfill that purpose. The right person will not distract you from your path.

Crazy Ex Girlfriend

Dealing with a crazy ex girlfriend in 2016 can truly test your salvation. Being stalked, threatened on your blog and cat fished on social media can definitely make you uncomfortable. However, take just a moment to forget your discomfort and remind yourself that no matter what she does or says about you..........

YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR IT.

Matthew 5:14

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill can not be hidden.”

This scripture right here keeps me from attempting to reenact a scene from Bad Girls Club. In all situations, you must remember that you have been set apart, you can’t carry on gossiping, cursing, or fighting. This is not what you are here for. You are here to be an example. Virtuous women do not have time for mess, they are focused on serving the Lord. Serving God consists of forgiving those that hurt you, loving those who are behaving in an unlovable manner and always maintaining your joy.

1 Timothy 4:12

“Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

Everyday, I challenge myself to not take things so personally, love unconditionally, and to remain happy not matter what happens. Sometimes, it’s good to just be quiet and take a note from Exodus:

Exodus 14:14

"The LORD himself will fight for you. Just stay calm."

If you find yourself in this situation, here are some tips for dealing with the madness.

The Opposite of Love is FEAR

When people lie to you it is NOT because they don't want to hurt you but it is because they are afraid you will disapprove of them or reject them. This week I have truly learned that the opposite of love is not hate but fear. Doing things out of fear brings anxiety, anger, jealously and other negative emotions. It is very clear to me now why  2 Timothy 1:7 says,

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

In a relationship, hurting each other is inevitable but understanding that your boo most likely hurts you out of fear can help you see the BIG picture and not take it so personally. The Bible calls us to pray without ceasing and if you believe you have found the one whom your soul loves ...

YOU SHOULD BE PRAYING FERVENTLY!

Honestly, do you really think that if two mature Christians come together and decide to follow God that satan won’t attack their relationship? Satan is going to call on the past to remind you of how imperfect you are, bring back crazy ex boyfriends/girlfriends, tell you that you are not good enough and other evil schemes. We all know that satan comes to kill, steal and destroy…Two Christians coming together will only breed more little Christians.. so of course he wants to destroy it. However, one of the best ways to destroy a relationship is unforgiveness. We all make mistakes, so we should be slow to anger and quick to forgive.

Here's a message from my dear friend Sister Beulah!
