The Adventures of Yin and Yang : Finding Balance

The philosophy of Yin Yang is that there are two forces that oppose yet compliment each other. For example: night and day, hot and cold, life and death, male and female, etc. In no way am I a Taoist but I have definitely found the Yang to my Yin. We've all heard that "Opposites Attract" but my goodness
.....
Bae and I are complete opposites!
What do I do?

I have struggled greatly with trying to find balance because I am so adventurous, high energy, sassy, and always on the go. However, my Yang is laid back, chill, serious, disciplined and loves to be home.  We are from different countries, different educational backgrounds, and completely different personalities. But we have one major thing in common and that is our love for God! No matter our differences, we have the same value system and both are convicted by the Holy Spirit. If we have a problem, we find solutions in the Scriptures. I pray fervently for this man but I am currently learning to embrace our differences instead of fighting it. The more I wish he was like me, the more frustrated I get. However, when I take a step back, I see that our differences compliment each other and make us an effective team. What one lacks, the other picks up the slack.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God”
(Matt 5:9)

It’s not wise to spend time fighting because you are different. It’s not your job to make your boo more like you. There is a reason you  are different; EMBRACE it, you can learn from it. Personally, I’ve learned to value sleep, take it easy, slow down and stay home.

Seek Peace. Embrace the Differences. Enjoy the Relationship
